Lone Star

We are headed to Texas tomorrow, so I won't be able to post for a while. Jacob has several job interviews mostly in the San Antonio and Houston areas. We are excited and nervous because this is most likely where we will be moving in July. Yikes! Hopefully we will come home with lots of good offers to choose from! We are especially excited to see our friends, the Woods, and get to stay with them for a couple of nights. Yay! Texas, here we come!

Hunting and Dyeing

Easter weekend we spent some time with Jacob's family. We had pictures taken with his entire extended family (minus 3 of Jacob's siblings and at least 4 cousins) and then ate a delicious meal out at his grandma's house. Later we dyed eggs with our nephews and even used some of the brown eggs from the chickens on the farm. At one point, the kids were crying and their mom was raising her voice at them and Jacob's mom looked over and said, "Well, this is such a fun Easter experience!" Ha, ha. But I think they really did have fun.

Jacob had fun too!
Rachel, Kaden, & Teagan
Barbora & Rachel (Barbora is from Czech Republic; she has been staying w/Jacob's parents since October going to school)

Saturday we went out to the egg hunt they do every year in Ucon. The youngest kids got the tennis court.

waiting...

and they're off! There were soo many kids and parents everywhere.

showing me his basket load of treats (I couldn't believe how fast he filled it and I even saw him pick up a few things and put them back on the ground)

Kaden won a little scooter, but he was more interested in his candy :)

It was fun seeing our nephews experience these activities. I can't wait till I can do the same with my own children.

Broken Ankles & Bocce Ball

I know it has been a while since my last post. I just haven't felt like blogging lately. Anyway, last weekend we visited my brother Will because he had broken his ankle the week before. He was up in Island Park riding a mule (golf cart with off-road tires) and it tipped over onto his leg and broke his ankle (a girl was driving-ha ha). He had to go to the hospital and have surgery and now his ankle has 10 screws and a plate (it was broken in 3 places). His roommates have been nice driving him around to his classes for the last 2 weeks of the semester. He is getting around pretty good on the crutches, but I couldn't help feeling a little sorry for him and wanting to take care of him. He is the only boy in my family and has 4 older sisters, so it is like he has 5 mothers instead of just one!

We had a few friends over to watch General Conference with us on Sunday. It was such a good conference and I felt uplifted and inspired after listening to our church leaders.
Sarah, Jeff, Bryant, and Neeley
We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch and since it was such a nice day we went outside after conference to play a little bocce ball.
This was my favorite picture of Jacob throwing the ball. It's the only one I got with the ball still in the picture. We had a fun time playing on the hill in our backyard-the guys got very creative with where they threw the ball.
Anyone else ever played bocce ball? (Other than you, Emily!)
