Genunique Cards

I wanted to let you all know that my good friend Shaela just opened up her Etsy shop. She makes the cutest cards and wall words, among other things. They would make great gifts for friends and family.
Go check it out! Also, for all you scrapbookers out there, she is giving away a fabulous stamp set. So visit her new shop then go to her blog and make a comment. You won't regret it!

Visitors

We have had a few more visitors over the last couple of weeks. My mom was here from Tennessee for her sisters' retreat in Utah, so she came to see us for a couple of days. We showed her the clinic where Jacob works, and talked, sewed, and played duets on the piano. I'm so glad we were able to spend a little time together.
Then one of my best friends, Rebecah, was in Idaho visiting her family and she got to come one day last week with her Mom and youngest son Isaac. It was so fun to see her! Isn't she the cutest pregnant lady? (She's due in January with her 4th son!)

I'm so happy when people come to visit us. If anyone else wants to come just let me know!

Candy Corn Concerns

Yesterday Jacob told me about a discussion he heard on the radio that I thought was so ridiculous I had to share it with you. The dj's were talking about candy corns and wanted to know which end (little or big) of the candy points up. If I had to choose I would say the little end points up, but Jacob said lots of people were calling in to the radio station to say that the big end always goes up. (Jacob would not like my grammar right now either b/c I keep ending sentences with prepositions. Oh, well.) I thought this was so silly that I had to ask all of you what you think. Does the little end point up, or is it the big end??

First Snow!

This morning when we woke up and looked out the window this is what we saw...this is the view from our backyard

Now most people who know me know that I am not a big fan of snow, (especially when it snows Oct. 11!), BUT there is always something magical about the first snow of the season, don't you agree? I just hope it melts soon so I can have a few more days of fall before winter comes in full force. How about all of you, do you like the snow?

You put the lime in the coconut...

My sister Jana had told me that a surprise was coming in the mail for our birthdays last month, so I waited anxiously to find out what she sent. Finally, one day I opened the mailbox to find a coconut! A true, genuine coconut from Hawaii. They let her mail it just how it was. Thanks Jana & Rob! Now we just have to figure out how to crack it open...

I found out about this on another blog. If you go the website for Handbag Planet you can enter to win a free bag! They are giving away one purse every hour for their launch on Oct. 15. I know there are some of you out there who love your handbags so I thought I'd pass this along. Hopefully one of us will win!!
