BBQ, Boo, & Ping Pong

I didn't realize it had been so long since I've blogged last!  I really need to post about my sister Jana's visit before I forget everything we did.  She was able to come again this year on her fall break from teaching school.  Last year we drove all over the place sight-seeing and got worn out so we decided to stay close to home this time.

After we picked her up from the airport we thought it would be fun to give her a Texas experience and eat some BBQ.  We stood in the line that stretched out the door of the Goode Co. restaurant waiting to place our order, while our stomachs growled, and thought, "a place this popular has to be good."  Mmm, not so much.  I'm sorry to all you Texans, but Jacob and I have decided that we just don't like (and probably never will like) Texas bbq.  We're not thrilled with the smoky dry-rubbed meat.  I could taste the smoke for the next two days.  Their signature sauce tasted like ketchup.  I'm used to places having multiple choices of bbq sauces.  The potato salad and baked beans were good though.  Eating here just made me miss Tennessee and Virginia bbq even more than I already did.  Oh well, it's still fun to try new places cause you never know if you're gonna love it.  I think I speak for all three of us that we won't be going back here.  :)
Later while we watched General Conference for our church we worked on a craft for Halloween.  I found this tutorial on the blog eighteen25.   It was super easy and I think they turned out so cute!

We had beautiful weather that first weekend she was here and went for a walk after lunch.  We ended the night by playing some ping pong and pool.  Jana and I stayed up late talking after Jacob went to bed.  I was so excited to finally have her here!
