Happy Mail

I received this card in the mail from my sister Jana for the 4th of July. Isn't it cute? She is just getting started making cards and I think she did a great job! It came right after we moved so it made me happy to get something other than bills or junk! I also got a package from my friend Shaela which had this fun set of cards for me to put together on my own! I have been wanting to start making cards and Shaela said she would help me. She sure delivered on that promise!

She also included a personalized bookmark, which is definitely cuter than the scraps of paper I usually use when I read.

The Harvest

Last week we broke down and ordered The Harvest 72" Shelf Reliance (the largest shelf they offer). We have been wanting one for a long time and we finally had a good excuse because our kitchen is tiny and didn't hold all of our food. We got it last week in the mail and spent a couple of hours putting it together. We love it!

Now no more worrying about expiration dates since the shelf rotates the food for you. As you can tell, we still have room for more, but I'm sure we'll fill it up quickly. We customized ours to have 5 small shelves and 1 medium shelf. Our #10 cans are in a closet (all 144 of them!).

We made it!

We have been in our new place for one week already. Change is always hard for me, but so far it has been ok. Right before we left Pocatello we sold our dodge neon to my sister and her husband. I was a tiny bit sad b/c it's the car we went on our first date in and have had the whole time we've been married. But it was time to let it go. Plus we need a car with air conditioning when we're in Texas! I hope it will be a good car for Jana and Rob.

We stayed up really late getting everything ready to pack in the truck the next day. Jacob's brother Harvey and his wife Rachel were good sports and helped us out a ton.

Jacob had a diagram of where everything should go. The guys who came to help us were impressed. We barely got it all in (and that was w/o our couches)!

Jacob's dad (and mom) were wonderful and came with us to drive the U-haul.

(We still had about 11 more hours of driving to reach the other side of the state!)We were so happy to reach our new town on the third day and get out of the car. We got everything unloaded in a few hours with the help of the Woods and a couple guys from our new church. I am still getting boxes unpacked and finishing the decorating but at least it is feeling more like home now. I'll put pictures up later when we're more settled in. Good luck to our other friends who are still moving! I'm glad ours is done. Thanks to all that helped in any way! We miss our family and friends back in Idaho but are looking forward to making new friends here.
